Madden's Growing

It's hard to believe that today was supposed to be my scheduled C-section date. Part of me will always wonder if things would have been different if Madden wasn't born at 37 weeks, but I can't dwell on that....I just need to be grateful for the blessing that God has given us.
Mike and I loved being with Madden today. The Dr. said Mike should be well enough to hold him tomorrow. I know he's anxious to hold his baby boy again! He is definitely starting to eat a little bit better. My favorite moment tonight was getting to breastfeed him while he was cavaging. It was such a sweet bond and I can't wait to do it again tomorrow. He was a little fussy this evening, but he was perfectly content being in my arms; which made me feel wonderful. We were so excited when the nurse told us his weight. He now weighs 7 pounds and 1 3/4 ounces. He needs to gain about 10 ounces before Friday. We all need to cheer him on!

  1. As we talked about in our conversation yesterday, I love watching Madden's progress and hearing the excitement and love in your voice. He just gets more precious in every picture. It's so amazing how we instantly love God's creation and just can't get enough. We don't understand why things happen the way they do but we quickly find that God is in charge. We just have to step aside and let Him work His miracle and carry us through the process. Can't wait to see you and God's little miracle next week. Yeah, Mike. Glad you're getting well enough to be able to hold your little boy again. Love you! Judy

  2. Ash, sorry you're having to go through all of this, but you have an absolutely adorable little boy on your hands! And don't worry, he'll get all the way better, and the next thing you know he'll be 4 years old telling YOU what to do. :) I hope you're saving your blog, these are some special memories. :)
