Eat Baby, Eat!

Get Well Soon, baby boy!

When we got to Cooks today, we found out that the doctors increased Madden's eating requirements. His new goal is to eat 65 ML per feeding. Mike fed him tonight and he took 30 ML, so the remaining 35 had to be put into his feeding tube. We really enjoyed the time we got to spend with Madden today. Mike even got to change his diaper. Hopefully I'll get to change it tomorrow. It's sad that Madden is 6 days old and his own mommy and daddy haven't even got to do the normal things with him yet. I'm hoping to get some more bonding time with him tomorrow. The doctors say the only thing keeping him at Cooks is his eating issues. I called to check on him at 11:00 tonight. I was disappointed to hear that he only took half of his feeding at 9:00 and he lost a little more weight. He is currently weighing in at 6 pounds 10.8 ounces. We just want him to hurry and turn into a little piggy. It kills us to walk pass his nursery or just to know that our home is not complete without him. Please continuing praying for baby Madden.

Mike and I wanted to say thank you to Melanie, Judy, Grammy, and Laura. Melanie, your dinner was so delicious! Grammy, thank you for the super cute baby book! Judy, Mike loves your Neiman Marcus bars! Laura, it was so nice visiting with you. I really appreciate all of you for coming to visit tonight.

Let's pray for a better day tomorrow for Madden....More eating....less feeding tube!

  1. Mr. and Ms. Morris,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you guys. We hope that Madden gets well soon. If you guys need anything, please let us know. :) Cooks is a wonderful hospital. That is where we take Daniel. They have always taken great care of him.

  2. Ashley, Mike, and Madden,

Thank you for posting and keeping us updated on Madden's progress. We are praying that he will improve his eating very quickly and be able to go home with y'all. It is so hard to spend 9 months worrying about this little person you so anxiously wait to meet, only to have even bigger and more real worries once they get here. We have been taking Harrison to the pediatrician every couple weeks for weight checks since he was born. I know how hard it can be to watch your little boy losing weight right before your eyes. My heart goes out to you. Keep on posting, and know that we are praying for each of you.

  4. Hey guys, Madden looks so sweet in his little outfit! We miss you and want to come see you soon....and we can bring some Mama'a Pizza or whatever you guys want :) I know it's gotta be unbelievably hard to leave him there each night, but just think of how strong he's getting and its one of the best Children's hospitals in the country :)

And next summer, this will be a distant memory as he is trying to chase Braden down at the MAC lol
